Shown here is a museum-quality cast of a Neanderthal hominid skull (Forbes Quarry); note the prominent brow. Our nearest prehistoric relatives were the Neanderthals, so it is not surprising that, from time to time, Bigfoot hunters have attempted to link certain evidence to the Neanderthal period (They dominated Eurasia from about 250,000 to 45,000 years ago, while south of the Mediterranean flourished Cro-Magnon man, Homo sapiens sapiens.). The Neanderthals have been extinct so long that attempts to link them with Bigfoot represent not science, but fancy.
